Last night I was talking with a friend about dating.  “What would you want to do on a date?” he asked.  I’m in the middle of so many deadlines I had to purposely change my thinking channel from writing to dating… I know, that’s kind of odd since I write about dating. lol!

Anyway, I decided that an evening ocean cruise would be fun.  I told him that I have always loved the feel of sea-spray on my face and the wind in my hair.  Lately the closest I have come to sea-spray in my face or hair is driving on PCH with the top down on my car… on my way to visit my dad, but that’s pretty cool too.

As I was thinking of fun times, sailing or cruising through ocean waves, I saw a “Google Alert” on my computer!

I love Google Alerts.  They are usually alerts from businesses that have found my Cherries Over Quicksand books, columns, radio shows or the Love Bites YouTube television show  I co-host with Jon Hansen.

It’s like someone saying, “Hey we found you and we Like You… we really, really like you!”  (Hehe!! I love Sally Field.)

Last night’s “Google Alert” was for Cherries Over Quicksand on Lybrary.com.  I went to the link where I saw that Lybrary.com has my book featured and all set up to sell on their site to people all over the world in their different currencies!   Readers living in Italy, England, Spain, France… or wherever… will be able to buy my book and know exactly the price in their currency at this Lybrary.com site.

I was so happy that someone else (a stranger) had found my book and decided to promote it… Again.  To me, that’s as awesome as a boat ride in the ocean, it was a great night.

A note to writers:  This is what can happen as Author’s get their books and names out on social media.  You never know who will want to have you speak at their event… or Feature you in a magazine, newspaper, on television or the radio… or on their site to help readers actually Purchase your book!

Authoring is fun.  I hope I’m inspiring those of you out there with a book just ready to fly out of your keyboard and onto pages then off to a publisher or printer so your book is available to readers.  I know it’s not easy, but no more waiting… get started okay?

Oh… and this morning, I woke up to a fabulous poem (or song?) about the wind, texted to my phone, from my friend.  Now I’m thinking about that ocean cruise again… poo…  back to work! lol!

Love Bites with Rhonda and Jon: Dating with Romance and Humor

This is our first Love Bites show on-camera after we started our Love Bites radio show in February of 2012.  The set is not up on my side yet but that’s all right because the curiously blank background gives us all a really fast glimpse into Jon’s quick wit right off the bat.  Fun show!

Fun Trivia:  The call-in Love Bites radio show segment Jon references on this YouTube T.V. show produced a happy couple!  Yes, a man and a woman in two different cities in California called into our radio show about dating while raising children, afterwards they decided to meet and have been posting photos of the new couple at scenic designations like boating with super happy/romantic captions and comments.  And yesterday a photo of the couple in a beautiful park having fun with characters putting on a Fall show was posted!  Fun couple… we are very happy for them! ;D

So, dating… especially first dates, can be fun or just a funny story you might tell your grandkids one day but singles should decide to get out there and begin their romantic adventure… a wonderful he or she might walk into their path today.

Guys… yes I know women can be confusing and ladies…even confident guys can be shy too, but there are simple formulas for getting a great first date… and simple ways for her to let him know she wants him to ask her out.  We cover so much fun dating research here between laughter, that the newly dating might want to watch this twice before watching the next episode.  I just re-watched this show and was reminded about the Harley dates and the married ladies with their arms full of babies and groceries while her man is happily bouncing a basketball… those ladies now wish they had let him open their doors on dates so he knows from the beginning that she wants/expects and knows she deserves a gentleman… forever, just like he deserves the lady he wants and expects forever.

I’m not sure how this show moved into the body and mustache hair subject… but Jon wants to know if women like hair or not… how do I answer that? LOL!!   Well, I did and laughed pink-faced at the same time because, well… you’ll see if you have time to watch the show at this link here.  Don’t worry we keep it clean, PG… and smelling pretty! ;D

LINK TO SHOW: "5 Minute Love Bite With Rhonda Ricardo". How do you keep the romance hot even while apart? On the Jon Hansen Show

This is a fun chapter in the next Cherries Over Quicksand because I really had to do my romance research!  Men and women could not keep from laughing when they told me what they had imagined their hot man or woman doing when one of them had to travel alone… whether they were the one at home or traveling, their minds could create the most Fantastic images! (Were they literally “Dancing on rooftops” like me?! LOL!!)… And of course they would realize they were being ridicules… or were they? Please listen at the radio show LINK here and let me know what YOU think too!  I hope you love it and can use some of the romance hints shared on the show! ;D

(My new FB friend and fabulous singer/entertainer Ken Johnson put me on this building while I was dancing… wait… put this photo of me on the building… haha!!  You can hear his song “The Long Goodbye – Ken Johnson” on YouTube or see it my Rhonda Ricardo Facebook page.)

Show opening:

“Men and women agree that Touch keeps the Roar in romance, and ‘Good communication’ maintains relationship-Strength.  So what happens if you are in the type of romance you Thought you could have Only dreamt about, with an amazing person that Melts into your arms the moment they come through the door; but then something comes up and they have to travel… Without you?   Hmm?? …” -COQ  (The story continues on the “Love Bites” link to Jon Hanson’s Show above… my giggles and all..I couldn’t help it! Hee hee!! Please enjoy the show friends! And leave your comments too!)
